Ready…Set…Go! Baby Shower Cake
Author: Heather // Category: Baby Shower Cakes, Fondant, StringworkThis cake was one of the most fun cakes to make that I’ve done so far. I loved making wee clothes and things out of fondant. There’s a lot going on on this one, but let’s give you the top view first:

So what you are looking at is baby, who has clearly strewn his clothes all about, sleeping soundly beside the upturned laundry basket.
Around the sides of this cake, baby’s laundry is hanging, and a few toys and things are here too including his teddy:

My concept with this cake was to say, “Get ready mommy, because from now on it’s go, go, go!” and I think I captured that here. The cake inside was vanilla bean with vanilla bean filling (a popular one lately!) and the cake is covered with green fondant.
