This cake was a birthday cake for a friend who quite loves Hello Kitty.

Hello Kitty birthday cake!
Miss Kitty is made entirely from fondant, excluding her whiskers which are tinted toothpick ends. Her little cake is also fondant, with sprinkles added for fun. The cake inside here was chocolate with chocolate buttercream filling. The sides are decorated with 2D flowers since her world is, after all, 2D.

This cake was for a friend of mine who loves movies. It was vanilla cake with coconut buttercream filling and covered in fondant. The “reels” are fondant-covered cardboard, but everything else is edible, including the fondant popcorn.

Action!
It was quite tasty, although I had forgotten how much black fondant turns your tongue green!

Well this is a bit late in getting up, but better late than never, right?

A family of snowpeople celebrate Christmas.
This cake looked much better in person than it does in photos. You can’t see how the snow sparkled, but anyway I still like it. This was vanilla cake with white chocolate buttercream filling and frosting, and would serve around 15-20. Happy (belated) holidays everyone!

White and Silver Wedding Cake with Roses
This is a very simple white wedding cake with silver ribbon that I made recently. The bride was providing her own roses, and as I was not present to get pictures of it…in order to show you what it may have looked like, I confess, I photoshopped on the roses.
The cake inside was vanilla with vanilla buttercream filling, and it is covered in white fondant, with silver ribbon around each tier. This cake could easily be made any colour of the rainbow, or jazzed up in any of 100 ways, simply by changing the ribbon or say, the colour of the roses:

Wedding Cake with Yellow Roses
A simple cake like this, with a topper of fresh or gumpaste flowers, is the perfect cake for the budget-conscious bride.

This cake was one of the most fun cakes to make that I’ve done so far. I loved making wee clothes and things out of fondant. There’s a lot going on on this one, but let’s give you the top view first:

- Ready…Set…Go! Baby Shower Cake
So what you are looking at is baby, who has clearly strewn his clothes all about, sleeping soundly beside the upturned laundry basket.
Around the sides of this cake, baby’s laundry is hanging, and a few toys and things are here too including his teddy:

Here is another shot of some of the laundry hanging:

My concept with this cake was to say, “Get ready mommy, because from now on it’s go, go, go!” and I think I captured that here. The cake inside was vanilla bean with vanilla bean filling (a popular one lately!) and the cake is covered with green fondant.
